Volumetric Cement Truck Operator
Position Overview
We are looking for a qualified Volumetric Cement Truck Operator. Your job will entail working outdoors in diverse settings including the delivery and batch mix of quality concrete to construction job sites in a safe and efficient manner. The ideal candidate would have good skill and knowledge in operating a Volumetric Cement Mixer, working with little supervision, while following all health and safety standards. Also, must have a valid DZ driver's license, be knowledgeable in the Highway Traffic Act, and perform vehicle inspections.
Qualifications & Skills
• Minimum 3 years experience driving and operating a Volumetric Cement Truck
• Responsible for loading truck with necessary aggregates, sand, and cement powder according to prescribed
procedures, including water and other required additives. Also paying special attention to weight distribution and limits
• Responsible for the delivery and batch mix of ordered concrete to construction job sites in a safe and efficient manner
• Ability to is discharge concrete, involving deployment of extension chutes, placing on main chute, driving in and out of
areas with heavy pedestrian traffic and various construction obstacles
• Responsible for maintaining truck operation efficiency by completing preventive maintenance requirements; washing
residual concrete from truck, following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; scheduling repairs
• Ability to complete assigned work on time with a high attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis
• Ability to work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold
• Capable of understanding and carrying out verbal and written instructions
• Comply with all company policies and regulations
• Able to take direction well and work in a team environment
• Good communication and time management skills
• Excellent customer service skills to deal with clients
• Good work ethic and must be punctual
Education & Experience
• High school diploma/GED
• Three+ years related experience
• First Aid skills and/or certificates are considered assets
• WHMIS, Working at Heights, Elevated Lift and other typical safety certifications are considered assets
• Valid DZ driver's license with a clean Driver's Abstract and CVOR
• Physically fit and able to lift up to 60 lb.
